Jo-Anne Wilson-Keenan is the author of From Small Places: Toward the Realization of Literacy as a Human Right. It is available from Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Sense Publishers. She has also published over twenty journal articles and book chapters on early literacy.

Jo-Anne’s second book is Children at the Border: An American Human Rights Crisis. The Trump administration violated the rights of migrant children who fled brutal violence in Central America. The book explores the policies of family separation and confinement of migrant children that some experts have described as torture. Connections are made between these harmful actions and provisions in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and four other UN conventions. The book examines efforts of humanitarian organizations, courts and legislators to reclaim the children’s rights.
